Is prosthetic therapy right for you

Prosthetic therapy may be necessary when a tooth is too weakened for restoration with a filling or when it is necessary to replace one, multiple, or all lost teeth.

There is no one-size-fits-all solution. The choice depends on the condition of the remaining teeth, the amount of bone, the bite, the health of the gums, and your daily needs.

Dental prosthetics may be an option if:
  • you have a significantly damaged or weakened tooth
  • you are missing one or more teeth
  • you have worn teeth or a changed bite
  • Do you want to replace an old crown, bridge or denture
  • You have a removable denture that is no longer stable enough
  • Do you want to restore the appearance and function of your front or back teeth

Restoration of teeth and lost function

Dental prosthetics encompasses various restorations used to repair damaged teeth or replace missing teeth.

Depending on the condition, treatment may include crowns, bridges, dentures, or implant-supported restorations. Prosthetic work is planned according to the anatomy of your teeth, bite relationships, and the appearance of your entire smile.

The goal is not just to fill an empty space or change the appearance of an individual tooth. Well-planned therapy should enable a stable bite, more comfortable chewing, and easy maintenance of oral hygiene.

What types of prosthetic solutions exist?

A dental crown restores an existing tooth when it is significantly weakened or damaged. A dental bridge replaces one or more teeth and relies on adjacent teeth or implants.

When a large number of teeth are missing, removable, combined, or implant-supported dentures can be considered. In the case of complete tooth loss, it is also possible to plan a fixed restoration supported by multiple implants.

The most suitable solution does not depend solely on the number of missing teeth. The health of the remaining teeth, the condition of the bone and gums, the bite, the ability to maintain hygiene, and your expectations are all taken into consideration.

What does prosthetic treatment look like

01

Review and diagnostics

We evaluate the condition of the teeth, gums, bone, and bite, and determine which teeth can be saved.
02

Individual therapy plan

We explain the available options, the sequence of procedures, and the realistic scope of change.
03

Preparatory procedures

If necessary, we treat teeth and gums or perform other procedures before prosthetic restoration.
04

Preparation and data acquisition

Teeth or implants are being prepared and the data required for the production of the individual restoration is recorded.
05

Testing and adjustment

We are checking the shape, shade, contact points with adjacent teeth, and the relationship of the prosthetic restoration in the bite.
06

Setup and controls

The final restoration is being placed, and through follow-up checks, we monitor its function and the health of the surrounding tissue.

Dental prosthetics includes crowns, bridges, dentures, and prosthetic works on implants. The type of therapy is determined based on the number and condition of the remaining teeth.

A crown restores an existing tooth. A bridge replaces a missing tooth and has fixed supports, while a classic denture is a removable replacement for a larger number of teeth or all teeth.

The duration depends on the type of work, the number of teeth, and the necessary preparatory procedures. Simpler cases require fewer visits, while more complex treatments can take longer.

In many cases, it is possible to create a temporary dental prosthesis. The possibility and form of the temporary solution depend on the type of therapy and the condition of the teeth.

Durability depends on the type of work, the condition of the abutment teeth, the bite, oral hygiene, and regular check-ups. It cannot be predicted equally for every patient.

Maintenance includes daily brushing and cleaning of the spaces between the teeth and under the dental prosthesis. Removable dentures also require separate daily cleaning.

Yes, when there is an aesthetic or functional reason for it. Before replacement, it is necessary to assess the condition of the teeth, implants, and surrounding tissue beneath the existing work.
